Thousands of anxious parents are currently engaged in a rush to secure birth certificates for their children following a recent directive by the government that no students would be allowed to register for national examinations without the crucial document. A random survey by Citizen TV found long queues in the office of the registrar of persons in Nairobi and other urban centers as some claimed they were queuing up from as early as four am. Meanwhile the Kenya National Examination Council has announced that the results of last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination will be announced on Tuesday next week.
