The history of Imprensa Oficial, publisher of the Official Gazette of the State of São Paulo, begins in 1891.

Imprensa Oficial came of age in the traditional Mooca district, guided by republican ideals concerning governmental actions. The neighbourhood grew, became too small for its many factories; Brazil industrialized, the world endured two global wars and witnessed the great information technology revolution.

And Imprensa Oficial kept pace with the times, becoming the largest organization of its kind in the country and transforming itself into a modern enterprise, with state-of-the-art printing installations and high technology services endorsed by ISO 9001 quality certification.

The mission of the Diário Oficial, the Official Gazette of São Paulo State, is to publish in its pages and ensure perpetual public access to all the acts of the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary branches of the state government, with transparency and authenticity.
