Q: Can I compile programs written in C and C++?
Yes, if the account you choose includes Telnet access. The standard gcc
compiler is used.

Q: How can I tell how many visits my web site gets?
Included FREE with every account is Wusage 6.0, a very powerful tool for
graphically tracking visitors to your site. It provides you statistics on
how long visitors were there, what pages they visited and the order in
which they were visited. With the advanced logging feature activated it
even captures what browser was being used and how the visitors found you,
whether through a search engine or a web site link.

Q: What are FrontPage server extensions?
FrontPage extensions are CGI programs that provide the server side
implementation of FrontPage. FrontPage communicates with the extensions
via HTTP using a Remote Procedure Call (RPC). When the server sees the
"POST" request addressed to the FrontPage server extensions it
simply directs the request to the appropriate CGI program. The extensions
implement authoring (uploading/downloading documents, ToDo lists),
administration (setting end-user, author, and administrator privileges),
and dynamic content (browse-time WebBot components). Without the FrontPage
server extensions you will not be able to take advantage of the WebBots
that are available through FrontPage. You also cannot author and
administer your site using the tools provided as part of the FrontPage
Editor/Explorer package.

Q: Can I upgrade my account?
Yes. You can upgrade your account at any time. If you are upgrading to an
account with the same level of set-up fees as your current account, we do
not charge a set-up fee for the upgrade. But if you are upgrading to an
account with a higher level of set-up fees than your current account, we
only charge you the difference in the set-up fees.

Yes. We backup your web directory daily on redundant hard drives installed

Q: Can I access my domain without the "www" in front?
Yes. You will be able to access your domain address with or without the
"www" in front of the domain name. Example: [http://www.your-name.com]
or [http://your-name.com] is
acceptable, whichever you prefer.

Q: What Operating System and Server Software is being used?

Q: What is a WebBot?
WebBots are the mechanism for invoking many of the interactive features
built into Microsoft® FrontPage. These features are added to your site
through the FrontPage Editor | Insert WebBot component
Some, such as ''Include'' and ''Substitution'' allow elements of your site
to be entered once and included in any or all of the pages by inserting
the Bot component referencing that element (e.g., a logo or navigation
bar). Changes made to the 'master' element are made automatically to any
page containing the referencing Bot.
Other Bots, such as Search, Table of Contents and Timestamp, control
dynamic browse-time features. These Bots work behind the scenes to keep
your site up-to-date for visitors.

Q: How do I get FrontPage server extensions installed?
New Accounts: Check the box on the order form indicating that you want the
FrontPage extensions. New domains that request FrontPage extensions when
placing their order, will have the extensions installed within 24 hours.
Existing Accounts: To have the FrontPage server extensions installed on
your existing site, call or email WorldPace sales Dept. with the following
information:
Your domain name
Your user ID & Password
Your request for FrontPage extensions

Q: What type of Java support do you offer?
Currently Java jdk 1.1.5 is installed on all our servers. Presently we
only support Java applets and not Java servlets, but check back soon for
more information.

Q: Do you handle international orders?
YES. We are proud to currently house domains for customers in over 120
countries worldwide and can host any valid domain name extension. If you
are interested in foreign domain name registrations, we provide you with
useful resources to help link you to most registration services around the
world.

Q: Will Server Side Includes (SSI) work on your servers?
YES. SSI's will parse on any page ending in .sht or .shtml.

Q: Can I install my own CGI Scripts?
YES. Each account comes fully equipped with its own pre-configured
CGI-Bin. Customers are free to use any of the CGI scripts included free
with their account or any others they may wish to add to their account. We
only monitor for poorly written CGI Scripts, as use of these scripts on
high traffic sites may affect the normal functioning of our servers and in
turn affect the performance of other web sites hosted on that server.

Q: Can I add more disk space to my account?
YES. You may add additional disk space to your account by emailing the
support dept with your requirements. As a customer you are charged @
$0.15/1MB, and this must be purchased in 10MB increments.

Q: What if I exceed my monthly transfer allowance?
You will be notified by email ahead of time allowing you enough time to
choose from our numerous Traffic Upgrade Levels. For traffic usage in
excess of your monthly allowance, you will be billed @ $12/month for every
additional 1GB used. A permanent traffic upgrade will provide monthly
savings of up to 50%. Depending on your choice, simply fill out and submit
the online application form. It's that easy!

Q: Do you support FrontPage server extensions?
YES. We support Microsoft FrontPage in several ways:
We configure your site for FrontPage by installing and maintaining the
server extensions.
We provide Technical Support related to the functionality of the
extensions.
Our online FrontPage 98 & 2000 training courses provide you with
resources that will help you solve problems, publish your FrontPage site,
and learn techniques for getting the most from your FrontPage software.

Q: What is the cost for additional login identities?

Q: Are third level domain names available?
YES. We can give you a third level domain name such as yourname.worldpace.net
or if you have an existing domain with us you can add
anyname.yourdomain.com. The biggest advantage here is that registration is
not needed, therefore there are no registration fees involved.

Q: Can I point additional domains to the same main page as my current
domain?
YES. We can mirror your main web pages and mail system for a one time
$25.00 set-up fee for each additional domain. This is a great way to
expand the marketing of your present business.

Q: Can I host domains in the sub-directory of my main account?
YES. In order for you to be able to host domains in the sub-directories of
your main account, you need the domain redirection feature. Please review
our Portal or Webmaster Plans, as domain redirection is offered as a
standard feature of those advanced plans. The Webmaster Upgrade provides
the ability to redirect parked domains to sub directories. This CGI based
tool is intended for webmasters and web designers that maintain web sites
for their clients, providing for easier maintenance and information
updates through one login. We also provide a web interface so you can
easily manage domains pointing to subdirectories.

Q: Can I subdivide my space and resell it?
YES. We allow you to create sub-directories, which you can use to offer
friends or clients disk space under your main account, as long as it is
within our policy guidelines. You can also request additional FTP Accounts
with limited access to a specific directory for a small additional set-up
charge.

Q: How long does it take to set-up a new account?
New accounts are set-up within 24 hours from the time we receive your
order. Once your account is set-up, you will be emailed your Account Login
information (User ID, Password & FTP hostname) along with some useful
URLs to help you get started. You can immediately start uploading files to
your new web site. Domain account users will be given a temporary URL to
access their site via the web prior to the completion of either domain
registration or domain modification.

Q: Can I use my account for commercial purposes?
YES. You can use your account for commercial purposes. The World Wide Web
has become the most efficient and cost-effective means of making
information, products and services available to the users of the Internet
community, and we provide our customers the necessary tools to develop a
successful Internet business.

Q: Will I have unlimited access to my site for updates?
YES. You have unlimited access via FTP 24 hours a day 365 days a year. As
such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and
upload files to your web site at your leisure.

Q: How do I transfer files to my web site?
Files must be transferred to the web server via File Transport Protocol
(FTP). Internet providers such as AOL, CompuServe, and Prodigy may have a
built-in FTP interface. If you need FTP, Telnet, mail, or other Internet
software, visit www.shareware.com.
Shareware.com is a source for the latest Internet applications with
ratings and reviews to help you decide which application is best suited
for your needs. An FTP tutorial is also available for beginners who may
not be familiar with FTP. Microsoft FrontPage users simply
"publish" their sites to our server and should not use
FTP.

Q: What is a virtual/true domain?
A virtual/true domain is having your own domain name (http://www.your-name.com)
without having to install expensive server hardware and software. With a
virtual domain, you utilize our server's storage space, however, you are
still professionally represented via your own personal Internet web
address (www.your-name.com) and by
your own personal email address (you@your-name.com).
Having your own domain name enables you to maintain the same email address
(you@your-name.com) even if you
change Internet providers.
