A single backup solution for a PC and a MAC?
I have a XP tower and a macbook pro at home, currently i have 2 external harddrives (80G and 60G) dedicated to each, which creates data redendancies and is hard to sync the data since the mac wont read NTFS etc. I’m now looking into a single solution that I can backup data to a single media. Any ideas? The backup mainly consist of common files used in both systems like Pictures (about 10G) Music (About 20G) and personal files (under 5G)
Oh, I do have alot of blank DVDs but it’s hard to keep track of it, unless anyone has a good scheme (and ways to organize) of using DVDs to backup large amount of data without too much confusion. Thanks!
no USB flash, cant backup 30GB of music and picture that way, I do use ghost for creating system imagining though not personal files. FAT32 seems the way to go, but i have to defrag it after certain usage right? And my external casing is not letting the MAC to format my harddrive, it locks up the system; and windows XP doesnt support formatting to FAT32 larger than 32GB, and no I dont have windows 2000 around = /
Sucks… I might have to buy a new HD casing
format the drive in fat32 and there shouldnt be a problem ..

What you have to do is to build your house, put your mom(Toan’s mom) there and ask her what is missing in order to complete the house.
You have to do this with each house if you want to build everything.

When dealing with a lot of the bigger companies the big thing looking at the deals they have. Most of them are about the same to deal with and offer most of the same features. One thing you should think about is privacy options. The domain name is going to get registered to your name and contact information that you provide. This can be used by spammers or others to get info you may not want others to see. Some of the domain registrars offer privacy options where it gets registered through a proxy info sort of. Good feature to look into!
Now when purchasing a domain name there are a few things to think of on the marketing side of things. You will probably want something easy to remember or easy to guess depending on your target audience. Plus look at variations that my be close to yours that could give people the wrong idea if they go to one of these and think they are on your site. Also are you concerned if anyone registers the same domain as your but as a .org or .net or so on.

What is a good free web hosting program to use?
I am making a website for valentines for my girlfriend. I know kinda gay but meh. Anyhow what would be a good web hosting place to host this? Going to be probably using dreamweaver or frontpage to upload so if it could be compatible with this that would be needed. I think its called FTP/PHP.

If you are having problem choosing a web hosting to use, I suggest you do the following:
1. Go to the webhost review sites such as webhostingjury, hostingsthatsuck.com or webhostinggeeks and list down about 3 common top hosting companies.
2. Next, for each web hosting X, do a “X sucks” search on Google. Read some complaints and see if you may encounter the same problems like them. Some of the complaints may relate to certain groups of users only such as VPS, dedicated server users or resellers. So you may not be affected if you are not from these categories.
3. Eliminate those hostings you feel uncomfortable with, and look for the best bargain hosting for your money.
Some good hosts to start with are Webfaction (you can pay monthly so you can cancel anytime if your gf doesn’t like your work), Fatcow hosting and InMotion.
