If I upgrade this CPU will it run this game without problems?

Okay I got a old Dell OptiPlex GX260 that I have had in storage for awhile now.
Specs can be found here: http://www.austincc.edu/cloud/manuals/Dell/GX260/specs.htm

I am looking to save what money I can and try to upgrade this CPU to run a game or two that I play.
Requirements for the Games:
Game 1:
CPU: Pentium 4 2.4GHz or higher
RAM: 1GB
VGA: GeForce FX5900 128MB or higher

Game 2:
OS: Windows Vista / Windows 7
Processor: Pent. 4 equivalent or greater
RAM: 2GB or more recommended
Graphics: 128MB or higher recommended (Direct X 9.0c or later)

Now after looking at the specs and talking to Dell, Employees at Office Max, Circuit City and Best Buy, some say that with the MAX 2GB upgrade and a New 256mb Graphic card will run these games with no problem even with the current Processor.

Now I am looking to upgrade this to save what ever money I can save. $50 is $50 non the less. SO I come here to seek some more input on the issue at hand.

I currently am renting a computer, the CPU I run now is the Acer Aspire X1200, AMD Dual Core 2.1GHz processor, 4GB RAM with the GeForce 9200 *1902 total dedicated memory*

This CPU has no problem at all running the game and that is how I like it. But if I do go about getting the 2GB RAM and 256mb Graphic card for the GX260, do you think I can still run the game without problems?

I look forward to your answers.

Thanks

First of all, for gaming, and I am a gamer so i have some idea as to what I am saying, you need a good overall computer. The CPU is only one part of a system, and to game on a comp means you need to have all parts able to handle the load. If you put a faster CPU, but neglect to upgrade the video and sometimes sound and on board ram, you might as well have gone fishing without a pole.
As you did not mention what games you want to play on it, I really can’t say if it will or not make any improvements. My guess would be the latter. My advice is to scrap the old unit, and build a new one which can handle all your gaming needs, dosent have to be high end, but only middle of the road for a decent experiance. Yo can build a very nice rig for 7 to 1000 dollars. Thats middle of the road. Sorry but computers are like used cars, they last only so long and then there obsolete.

I’m redecorating my 3 1/2 year old daughter’s room…any cute ideas that she’ll still want in a few years?

Here’s the bedding I just got for her: http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6E.aspx?DeptID=59474&CatID=76919&GrpTyp=ENS&ItemID=1557420&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=59489&Fltr=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=2&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=59489|76919
It’s the Betsy set with the pink, yellow, green plaid, butterflies and flowers. Her furniture is all white, the carpet is blue at the moment, but when I get her new, it’ll probably be green that matches the set-she wants pink but I’m not sure she’ll still like it in a few years-I’m trying to think long term for carpet. The blue does match, but there’s isn’t much blue in the quilt so I’m not sure how long I’ll be keeping it. Her walls are a beige-almost a pale yellow, which I’m keeeping for now.

She has cube shelves in her room with her books on it and a few other things, plus two of those little canvas crates for storage. Plus a big ttable for coloring and play-doh, a pink storage thing, and her dresser. I want it to be as open as possible, so I don’t want to add any more furniture, besides and easel her grandparents are getting her for Christmas. I’m going to buy pictures of animals, butterflies, and flowers for her walls, plus some pics of family and pets. She also has one of those dangly sun catcher things for by her window and a fake fish tank which will be her nightlight.

DO you have any ideas for decorating? Some things I haven’t thought of? I don’t want the sticker appliques for her walls-her doctor has them in a couple of his rooms where kids peeled them and I think she may do that, too, so when she’s older I’ll look into them. I was thinking maybe cloud ones for the ceiling though! Anything you could suggest would be great:) Thanks for any help you can give!
She actually has a kitchen, but it’s downstairs-she spends most of her time down there. She also has 3 white shelves and a stuffed animal net. I’ve looked into the paint she can draw on, but will it teach her it’s okay to draw on walls?! That scares me! Yes, I want to get her a dream catcher too:) I actually made a few in highschool-maybe I can find the one I loved-it matches her new bedset! And the pictures won’t be poster sized-she has one poster of a chihuahua with a pink background-that’s it! These I’ll probably get from a stock photo place, but I’ll check Hobby Lobby (or is it Lobby Hobby, lol)! All great ideas-I’ll wait to pick in case I get more-the more the better-I’m overwhelming myself with this and am trying for things that’ll last years, so any help is sooo appreciated:)
Oh, and the pics for her walls will be of real things like flowers, animals, and butterflies so they can last her forever or me forever-she actually said she wants animals and butterflies over theme-rooms-we’re a serious animal-loving family:)

Chalkboard Paint! Its the best thing that has EVER been created. Apply that to your walls and she can make her own designs with chalk that she can erase and do over any time that she pleases. You don’t have to do the whole wall, of course, just a section or a little piece. Just give her something for her imagination to run wild with.

I also like the idea of clouds on the wall! Thats really awesome! You could also do a paper michay (however you spell it) of her favorite thing (butterfly, flower, whatever it may be) and make that her night light. There are instructions online to do that with. I’ll try to find those for you.

Honestly, other than the chalkboard paint for the wall I would leave them alone because to many parents try to hard to do things for their kids and they just grow out of them so quickly. Think. . .in a couple of years your little girly girl could be a tom boy and want bugs or insects or even cars all over her wall but she’ll be stuck with flowers because money is tight.

I also think that hanging a dream catcher from a ceiling fan in the room is beautiful. Especially for night time. I’m not much on the sun catcher, although they are beautiful. Dream catchers mean more, to me, and every night my little boy falls asleep telling me what all his dream catcher is going to catch during the night.

good luck with redecorating!

3 Proven Internet Marketing Tips Made Especially For Beginners

If you want to make lots of money with internet marketing, you first have to understand the fundamentals. We will now look at some of the essential actions you must take in order to become successful at internet marketing.

If you want to become a superstar Internet marketer, you not only need to have your own product but you also need to know how to drive your sales through the roof. Real financial success is possible with internet marketing is you know how to play the game. So let’s say you were successful in creating your own product in a market where there is demand for it. What is the best way to gain sales? Are you going to handle all of the marketing yourself? Take advantage of the value available through affiliate programs. You earn more money using several affiliates because they are driving traffic to your sales night and day. Affiliates will handle all of your promotional needs with no upfront cost. You pay them when you see results. Running your own affiliate network isn’t even that difficult anymore thanks to the independent networks and tools available. If you’re selling an ebook, for example, you can sign up with Clickbank giving you access to thousands of affiliates. They take care of all the details, such as payments, for you. These networks are what make internet marketing easier than before. These networks are so powerful that you can launch your product one day and see sales the next.

If you are marketing online, your website needs a steady supply of good quality visitors. Many inexperienced internet marketers waste their money on low quality traffic that does them no good. You need traffic that is highly targeted, not cheap generic traffic. If you are going to pay for traffic, get it from reliable sources such as pay per click or targeted solo ads. There are many traffic packages offering visitors for pennies, but this is very low quality traffic.

You can’t expect to be a successful internet marketer if you’re afraid to ever take risks. There are never any certainties with internet marketing, which is why you have to be something of a risk taker to get anywhere. This will allow you try new strategies, experiment with new markets and create products that have less competition. Everything comes down to your choices, and those who are open to new possibilities are the ones who have the potential to achieve the most. The correct knowledge plus action are the keys to online marketing success.

What is the best web hosting for an online storefront?

Looking for web hosting and sites that will allow a storefront with ease. I will be designing the website. I need something that allows ease of use, customer service, online storefront, shipping costs and database inside. Please no sales reps from companies, only people who have used these sites and know about them. Thanks!

Buy web space from any provider who supports PHP and MySQL and get the free (open source) software OSCommerce. It is made by a bunch of technical guys who want to be able to run their web shops for free. You don’t need to pay anyone to install it, you just upload the code to your website then visit the installation page, and you are not tied in to some third party or an expensive contract.

It supports many different credit card authorization companies, it is multi-lingual, supports tax calculations, shipping rates, mailing lists, and just about everything you expect from a commercial shop.

My favourite feature is you can make a PayPal shop with no costs at all, as long as you have a PayPal account.

I would recommend "Nearly Free Speech" as a hosting company, I’m not affilliated with them in any way but I love their policy of paying for web hosting by the penny. An OSCommerce website installation will cost somewhere between 34 cents and $2 a month, depending on how big your store is and how many people visit it.

The Mystery Behind Domain Names

There are approximately 68 million .COM domains registered. That’s a lot of domain names out on the Internet that are either already taken or just parked in some obsolete spot gathering dust and all kinds of age. The most common names like loser.com. Jamesbrown.com are already taken by net investors who resell the rights to the names. Can you imagine someone having www.elvis.com ? He’s just waiting on the highest bidder!

There are 900 possible combinations for two letter sequences. If you’re looking for “ET” then you just won’t find it! Even allowing for digits, again every single web address is taken. Of course, that’s ignoring the fact that .COM registrars now mandate a 3-character minimum length, so it wouldn’t be an option.

Many of the three-letter sequences are taken. Adding digits to a domain name creates a number of garbage domain entries. If you’re dying to acquire great domains and unique domain names, they’ll free up sometimes only to be auctioned off through unique domain name sales.

The longer the domain name that you choose, the more that the possibilities are that it could be available presuming that you’re willing to accept an arbitrary sequence of letters and/or digits. For example, most organizations have 4 letter acronyms (WQAM.com and AFTA.org so you may have a chance using over 4 letters to get the domain name that you want in acronym style!

Of course many of the registered domains are ever, visited, with a huge percentage having nothing more than a “parked page” (users pay domain registrars to put up ads for themselves on these type of parked pages). There are so many combinations and back door tricks to domain name cataloging and classification until the possibilities are endless.

The rule is to obtain a domain name that closely resembles who you are about which gives you and identity and brand on the internet.
